The Quarry
Round Barn Quarry initially started off as a much smaller stone delf that occupied the western half of the quarry we see today. Both the modern quarry and the old delf are located on the site of much smaller and older quarries that are of unknown date. .A reasonable lowish crag with few climbs exceeding 30 feet. Around 80 routes, most in the Diff to Severe range, but a few Extremes to keep the harder climber happy. Most of the climbs in the quarry are worth doing, but little has been climbed on the lower tier.
Access
6.5 miles north of Bolton. Take the A676 for 3 miles from the ring road going north. Turn left to Edgeworth and drive a little over four miles until just short of The Crown and Thistle pub. A path leads from here up the hill to the quarry on the right.
