PMC First Ascents

While this cannot be considered a definitive list of our clubs first ascents it has been the subject of much research , we apologise in advance however for any ommissions or errors that have crept in.

Many of these climbs, particularly those on Raven Crag in Langdale, have gone on to be classics. Who has not climbed Evening Wall or Bilberry Buttress?  Some routes however are better left to the connoiseur of such exotic esoterica. A well known member of our club has in the past made many attempts to find Bluebell Arrete without success. The same member also located Trough of Bowland Quarry with the intention of repeating some of the ascents there. He beat a hasty retreat quoting the alleged words of a famous alpine guide: "It may go, but I don't"!

No-one has yet repeated all the climbs on the list and frankly we don't expect anyone ever will unless you fancy taking up the challenge?

# Alf Gregory led a Merseyside Himlayan Expedition to this area which climbed 19 peaks. To date have not been able to establish the names of these peaks - research ongoing					** Carl Spencer also made first ascents at Range West but have not got a list to enter them here.
