Meeting at 10.30 a.m. at Dawn's Tea Room and Bakery, Knott End, FY6 0AR. 

Directions: Leave the M55 at jnct. 3 and head north on the A585. Turn right onto the A588 near Skippool, and head north through Hambleton and Stalmine; shortly after this, the A588 takes a right-hand bend to Lancaster, but our route continues straight ahead on the B5377 towards Knott End, where it joins the B5270. Follow this road to the end and the Knott End Ferry car park. Our rendezvous is Dawn's Tea Room and Bakery, which involves a half-mile walk back on the left hand or north side of the B5270, just past St. Bernard's Road, at 16 Lancaster Road, Knott End FY6 0AR, tel. 01253 811231.Grid ref: SD 354 485.

The walk: From Knott End, a circular walk along the Lancashire Coastal Way, then inland via farm tracks and footpaths through Preesall to walk a short section of the Wyre Way, back to the start. About 7 miles. (We can shorten the walk if the weather is iffy, as it often is in November.)
